MedStar Health and Rite Aid Announce an Agreement to Launch Health Clinics in Rite Aid Stores with Consumer Health Services

MedStar Health, the Mid-Atlantic's largest hospital and health care provider, Rite Aid Corporation and Consumer Health Services, Inc. (CHS), an innovative manager of on-site physician-staffed health clinics, have entered into an agreement to launch MedStar PromptCare walk-in health clinics inside select Rite Aid stores. The clinic sites will open this summer at four locations in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. metropolitan areas.

Under the agreement, MedStar Health will provide clinical oversight and ensure access to necessary follow-up specialty and acute medical services for the clinics. This partnership will provide patients with convenient, high-quality medical care, without an appointment, that is integrated with MedStar Health-affiliated physicians and hospitals.

The clinics are expected to have secure electronic access to MedStar Health's patient information system to ensure continuity of care.

Children’s Hospital Boston Selects eClinicalWorks Unified EMR/PM Solution

eClinicalWorks, a provider of ambulatory clinical systems, announced that Children’s Hospital Boston has purchased licenses of eClinicalWorks unified electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management (PM) software for its primary care network. As part of this agreement, eClinicalWorks is working with the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Children’s (PPOC) to build a pediatric-specific disease registry reporting module, which will aid the improvement of clinical care across the network.

Elmhurst and Queens Hospital Centers & Axolotl Announce Partnership for RHIO

Elmhurst and Queens Hospital Centers, members of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, announced the selection of Axolotl Corp. to implement a regional health information exchange. With a commitment to delivering the highest quality of patient care, Elmhurst and Queens Hospital Centers will utilize Axolotl's Elysium technology to connect community healthcare participants and provide an electronic system for real-time delivery and sharing of clinical information among healthcare professionals.

Using Axolotl's community-wide Patient Index to ensure correct identification of all patients, providers in Queens will have the ability to access laboratory reports, radiology reports/eImaging, medication history, allergies and other important patient information across the region, via a secure web application. As well as connecting to ambulatory care Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, data will be available through Axolotl's Virtual Health Record and its EMR-Lite product. Physicians will also use Axolotl's integrated e-prescribing solution, with connectivity to SureScripts and RxHub networks for prescriptions, renewals, formulary and eligibility data.

MedcomSoft and eQHIP Announce EMR Alliance
